String is a DIGENERATOR firmware that is a complete synthesizer voice. A gate to either of the GATE inputs will strike the digital string. The string's volume will decay to silence within a time set by the CHARACTER knob and the associated CV input. The sound of the string will appear at the DAC output of the module.

The string algorithm iterates over the same short waveshape, and dampens it little by little. Both the damping method and the initial waveform generation method are selectable from many in this firmware customizer. One of the two selected string damping algorithms is then selected with OPT1. The initial waveform depends on which gate the string was struck with, and up to four different dampening algorithms can be selected, one per jack. Some algorithms generate a new waveform from scratch, some recall the previous stike's initial waveform and modify it.

Additionally, the GATE output serves as a squarewave suboscillator to the string's pitch. It can be enabled manually and dynamically with OPT2. Its division rate can be customized.

Below is a set of parameters that you can customize for your String. If you want to try out the stock variant, just hit GENERATE without touching any parameters. Have fun!

Select how to initialize the string's initial waveform for each GATE input.
